DuPontTMTyvek® is an innovative technology of DuPont. It is lightweight yet extremely tough and is a popular printing substrate due to its light weight, smooth surface, high dimensional stability, opacity, toughness and durability. Uncoated Tyvek® can be printed using most digital and commercial printing processes. Some digital printers and some water-based inkjet printers require special coatings. Tyvek® can be printed on sheet-fed or roll-fed paper. Tyvek® can print just like paper, although some of its physical properties do require special attention. In order to achieve outstanding print quality, designers and printers alike must understand the unique properties and properties of Tyvek®. Tyvek® is made from continuous high-density polyethylene filament. Using heat and pressure, the filaments are bonded into a substrate for printing that is neither paper, cloth, nor plastic film, but combines the best of all three.
DuPontTMTyvek® material has a melting point of 135°C and is a waterproof and non-absorbent material with excellent dimensional stability, high strength and a smooth matte finish. Most conventional printing technologies can be used for Tyvek® printing, as well as some digital printing.
DuPontTMTyvek® is waterproof, breathable, lightweight, strong, tear-resistant, puncture-resistant, anti-bacterial, anti-mite, dust-proof, high reflectivity, anti-UV, easy for printing and various processing techniques, environmentally friendly and recyclable. Tyvek® is naturally white in color and comes in two different structural forms: a hard structural material like paper, and a soft structural material like cloth.
